Yard Sale brings in green!

The Department of Peace Yard Sale on September 1 was a great success.

Donations came from dozens of sources, both individuals and organizations.

The DoP earned collected over $1,600 in merchandise sales and donations.

Many people who saw treasures in other people's trash also made cash contributions to the DoP campaign over and above the cost of the merchandise they purchased. That is especially encouraging because it shows that people believe in this Department of Peace campaign.

In addition to the Yard Sale revenue, we took donations on the new DoP t-shirts and tote bags that feature the images of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi. And we sold some tickets to the Swami Beyondananda show.

Thanks to Skyridge Church of the Brethren, 394 S. Drake in Kalamazoo, for the privilege and opportunity to utilize their high-visibility facility for this event.

Thanks to Yard Sale organizers Marilyn Eccles, Carolyn Dixon and Karen Chadwick.

Thanks to everyone who worked, participated or contributed in some capacity:
Luann Van Dam, Chuck Harmon, Tina Bolea, Suzanne Schipper, Joan Kahled, Janice Lakers, Bob Asher, Jr., Loe and Linda Mills, Kes Nagler, Brendan Nagler, Eliot Nagler, Elizabeth Nagler, Shadia Kanaan, Bobbi Jo Gamache, Marianne Orr, Ruth Pino, Ineke Way, Addie Ikerd, and probably others. I apologize to anyone whose name I've missed.

Some of these people had not participated in a DoP event before, but everyone truly stepped forward to make the Yard Sale a great DoP Team success.

Thanks and peace to all.
