KNOW Acknowledges Michigan’s DoP 6th District Group

Posted by Robert Weir, DoP district leader

The Department of Peace campaign is becoming more and more visible, as confirmed in the following “Signs of Hope” segment in a recent e-mail from Tom Small to KNOW members. The unnamed “activists” to whom Tom referred include Karen Chadwick, Bobbi Jo Gamache, Lyn Sperry, Peg Bozarth, Carol Higgins, Ray Hayes, Corrinne Hoyt and probably others who have been out and about, often wearing Department of Peace t-shirts and/or buttons or sporting DoP bumper stickers on their vehicles. Lyn Sperry, for example, was interviewed last week by a South Bend, IN, TV station—while wearing her DoP t-shirt—at a global warming demonstration outside Fred Upton’s office in St. Joseph. Thanks to all of you who are visible for the DoP campaign. Thanks, Tom, for noticing and commenting.

From Tom Small of Kalamazoo Nonviolent Opponents to War (KNOW):

SIGNS OF HOPE
We note Robert Weir and Department of Peace activists at many events these days. They seem not to miss an opportunity to distribute information, gather names, get signatures on petitions, mingle with people. The DoP campaign is gathering strength and momentum. Congratulations to Bob and to all the faithful DoP organizers and supporters. You help to give us hope.
