Our meeting of the DoP team last Thursday was great. Many enthusiastic people are making good things happen. Thanks to the 20 people who participated. Here's the skinny. Details will appear in later e-mails. The Crawlspace Eviction FUNdraiser is scheduled for Friday, March 14. Deb Killarney, Lynn Kinch and John Kinch are working with people from Kalamazoo Nonviolent Opponents to War (KNOW) to make this happen. Alice Noecker, Marilyn Eccles and Chuck Harmon are advancing our bylaws and planning our first "annual meeting" to be held in April. That meeting will feature adoption of the bylaws, election of officers and trustees, and a financial audit report. Karen Chadwick and Carolyn Dixon are the nominating committee for officers and trustees. Peg Bozarth and someone to be determined will conduct the financial audit. If you want to help Peg, contact me at 269-978-6803. Martha Dahlinger is advancing a video program featuring local veterans to be broadcast on cable television, hopefully in May. Bobbi Jo Gamache is making arrangements for many DoP people from SW Michigan to attend the Midwest Regional Conference in Schaumburg, IL, on June 19 - 21. We are allocating funds from our treasury to offset some of the cost for attendees. Karen Chadwick and Bobbi Jo Gamache are in the process of nominating the DoP campaign for the Kalamazoo Gazette's 2008 STAR Awards for volunteers and volunteer groups. That's it for now. Details on each of these will be forthcoming as/when necessary. Official meeting notes will be posted at a later date. Thank you for all you do to bring peace to our world. |
