Re-visioning our DoP Group Our last meeting on January 13th was dedicated to considering new goals for our local group. We are searching to energize ourselves for the future. Please read the following minutes carefully. We created three mission statements which come after the minutes. We would like to adopt one of these (or a combination thereof) at our next meeting. We need your input!!! Proposed Mission Statements: 1. Our mission is to introduce a passion for peace to people of all ages and beliefs, since peace is essential for the survival of the planet and all living things. Our passion for peace is carried out by actively building a culture of peace in our local community as well as support of the passage and sustainment of the Youth Promise Act.2. As a local Department of Peace, striving to build a culture of peace through our personal and cooperative actions, our mission is to be a community resource for conflict resolution and non-violence. We support the passage of peace related legislation.3. To function as a local department of peace, a resource for strategies of non-violent conflict resolution (Vision statement?) Could you please make our next meeting on February 10th an important part of your agenda? We need your energy in revitalizing our group. Thank you!
