Pakistan Flood Relief Benefit Concert

What: A multi-faith concert, brief slide show, and question/answer session

When: Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, 5:00-7:00 pm. Refreshments at 7:00 p.m. partly donated by Shawarma House on Buckhout St., Kalamazoo

Who: Performers include cellist Elizabeth Start, organist Robert Jordan, Kalamazoo Muslim Youth Choir, Sikh Youth Musicians, violin players Fatima and Humza Mirza, Third Coast Ensemble, Pakistani-American pop singer Taimoor Khan

Where: First Baptist Church, 315 W. Michigan Ave.

Suggested Minimum Donation (taken at the door):

Adult-$10; Student -$5; Children under 10-Free

All proceeds go to support Pakistan flood relief efforts

Oct. 27th event with Ann Wright at WMU

Retired U.S. Army Colonel Ann Wright, former high-ranking U.S. State Department

official, author, lecturer, and ardent advocate of peace will be visiting Kalamazoo on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

Colonel Wright was aboard the Peace Flotilla when it was attacked by Israeli commandos in a deadly raid. She will be the keynote speaker at Peace Week at Western Michigan

University sponsored by the Peace Center. Details on the exact WMU location and time are ng arranged.
