SAVE THE DATE!! Saturday, June 18th, Moveable Peace Picnic and Fundraiser

Join sponsors, KNOW and the Campaign for a Department of Peace, from 4 to 7 p.m.at Milham Park Shelter, 400 East Kilgore Road in Kalamazoo. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Great entertainment includes Kevin Szwala as "Mr. Peace, Joe Kidd, Joe Gump and much more. Bring your own lawn chair and your kids. Suitable for all ages. Concert proceeds will benefit Moveable Peace 2011. Moveable Peace is a collaboration between peace and justice organizations throughout Michigan. Their mission is to travel through the state during the summer of 2011 and conduct events and conversations designed to unite our communities in an effort to solve the social and financial issues that we confront every day. Our annual DoP yard sale will be here before you know it!! Drop off times will be during the day on August 25th and 26th. Details will be coming in a future newsletter.

Let's Grow Our Voice for Peace!! Walk with us in the July 4th Holiday, South Haven Parade!!

Monday, July 4th, we will be gathering in the South Haven High School's parking lot at 10:00 a.m. Wear "peace" attire and bring a water bottle. The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. Help us be a presence for non-violence. Call Luana VanDam (269-372-5944) with questions.

July 14 is our next People for Peace and Justice Gathering

Skyridge Church of the Brethren is the place to be on Thursday, July 14th at 6:30 for our next collaborative meeting of peace groups in Southwest Michigan. It will be an ice cream social. We now have a joint peace group calendar accessible by all on line. And, we had a large showing in the Memorial Day parade.

Let's continue with our momentum. (This meeting will take the place of our monthly DoP meeting.)
